In the planning stages for three years, the Spningfield-Sign-Ordinance is a pnoduct
of the combined efforts cf a speci"r sigo suuiommittee forrned by the Planning commis-
sion, nepresentatives of the Spningfiell Ch.*b." of Commence, and the Springfield Com-
mittee fon citizen Tnvolvenent. A nunben of pr:b1ic heanings also occured fo:: funther
citizen input. Then, in January 1981, the springfield c5.ty council adopted the new
Sign Crdinance.

As a pesult of the recent City-wide sign sunvey' the following violation was found on I
