Tigner 44 l^Jest Broadnay, Suite 505 Eugene, Oregon 97403 RE: Occupancy.Inspection at 810 North 7th Street, SpringfieLd, Oregon Dear Mr. Tigner: At your request, the Buildlng Division of the City of Springfield conducted an Occupancy Inspection of the building located at 810 North 7th Street, Springfield, Oregon. The proposed use of the building as a store-arcade type business will categorize its useage as a B-2 Occupancy. The following i-tems include but are not l.imited to a cornplete list of i.tems that shal1 be installed, repai-red or replaced in order to conform to all applicable codes for that occupancy. OREGON STRUCTURAL SPEC]ALTY CODE AND FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY (s. s. c. ) 1)The store and game area shal1 be prcvided with natural ventilaticn by means of exterior openings with an area not less than 1,/2Ath of the total floor area, or sha11 be provided with a mechanically operated ventilation system capable of providing a minimun of five (5) cubic feet per minute of outside air with a total circulation of not less than 15 cubic feet per minute per occupant and such system sha11 be kept continuously in operation during such time as the building is occupied. S.S,C. 705 The exit doors shal1 swing in the direction of exit travel and nust be open- able from the inside without the use of a key. An alternative to the above requirement would be a locking device which is distinguishable as locked and a readily visible sign on or adjacent to the door stating "THIS DOOR TO REAIN UNLOCKED DURING BUSINESS HCURSI'. E.S.C. 410-18 4) Flexible cords sha1l not be used as a substitute for fixed wiring for electrical supply to air conditioning unit. E.S.C. 400-8 5) Remove the abandoned service head and cables at the south end of building. E.S.C. 19903 (a) 6) The conduits in the attic area sha1l be repaired where damaged and properly secured in outlet boxes. E.S.C. 346-10 and 300-10,12 7) The electrical cables in accessible roof and attic spaces sha1l be protected by guard strips. E. S. C. 333-1-2 8)Protective covers and knockout seals shal1 be installed on all openings of electrical boxes in attic area. E.S.C. 370-15 OREGON S TATE PLUTIBING SPECIALTY CODE (P.S.C.) 1) Where a fixture comes in contact with a wa1l or floor, the joint sha1l be caulked water tight. P.S.C. 907 2) The pressure relief valve on the hot water tank needs to be piped to an ex- terior location and turned downward. P.S.C. 1007 (e) 3) A 3/4 inch fullway valve sha1l be installed on the discharge side of the water meter. P.S.C. 1005 4) 5) The abandoned gas outlets shall be removed to a point downstream of the existing valves. P.S.C. 1205 NOTE: Individual comnercial establishments in residential areas shal1 be permitted Ety one iCentity flat wa11 sign for each street frontage of an operating busi:ress, but not to exceed a tctal of two signs. Such sign(s) shal1 not have a surface area totaling more than thirty-two square feet, and shall be no nore than twenty feet total height above grade.
