ITEM TITLE: SPRINGFIELD POLICE ADVISORY COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT
ACTION
Appoint/not appoint Jonathan Hayes, Karla Berg, and Adam Jenkins to the
REQUESTED:
Springfield Police Advisory Committee for a four year term starting January 1,
2022 and ending December 31, 2025.
ISSUE
The Springfield Police Advisory Committee has three neighborhood/citizen at -large
STATEMENT:
vacancies created by two term expirations and a member resignation.

DISCUSSION/
The City received nine (9) applications for the three open neighborhood/citizen at -

large positions on the Springfield Police Advisory Committee during the

recruitment open from October 19, 2021 through November 5, 2021.
At the November 22, 2021 Work Session, City Council interviewed eight (8)
candidates. One (1) candidate withdrew their application prior to the interview. At
the conclusion of the interview process, City Council supported appointment of
Jonathan Hayes, Karla Berg, and Adam Jenkins as neighborhood/citizen at -large
representatives. The new appointees would begin their four (4) year term on
January 1, 2022.
