LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTMENTS
ACTION Appoint Barbara von Diether to four-year term ending December 31, 2025 and
REQUESTED: appoint Robyn Louden to a two-year term ending December 31, 2023 to the Library
Advisory Board.
ISSUE The Library Advisory Board will have two vacant positions as of December 31,
STATEMENT: 2021 due to the resignation of Board member Amy Lyons in February of 2021, and
the expiration of Board member Mary Beth Phelps' term on December 31, 2021.
There are two years remaining on the term vacated by Ms. Lyons, and then a full
four-year term. At the 11-15-2021 work session, the Council interviewed two
candidates and chose to appoint both, Barbara von Diether and Robyn Loudin to the
Board.

DISCUSSION/ Library Advisory Board is seeking members for two vacant seats. Board member
FINANCIAL Mary Beth Phelps' term expires on December 31, 2021. In February 2021, Board
IMPACT: member Amy Lyons sent an email announcing her resignation from the Library
Advisory Board. Three applications were received for the two openings, but one
person had to withdraw. The two remaining applicants were interviewed at the
November 15, 2021 Council work session and a decision was made to appoint both
Barbara von Diether and Robyn Loudin.
The Library Advisory Board requests that during the regular meeting the Council
formally ratify the appointments of Barbara von Diether for a four-year term ending
December 31, 2025 and Robyn Loudin for the remaining two years of a vacated
term ending December 31, 2023.
