ACTION Appoint (1), Jose Antonio Huerta to the Arts Commission with full term expiring
REQUESTED: December 31, 2025.
ISSUE The Arts Commission has three vacancies on its board of nine commissioners. One
STATEMENT: applicant reapplied for a full term after filling a partial term. One vacancy is a full
term with an expiration of December 31, 2025. The last vacancy is due to the early
resignation of Joshua Melte. The vacancy is a partial term with an expiration of
December 31, 2023.

DISCUSSION/
After a recruitment with a deadline of November 5, 2021, the Springfield Arts
FINANCIAL
Commission received one application for the three upcoming vacancies.
IMPACT:
At the work session on November 15, 2021, City Council interviewed candidate
Antonia Huerta, filled out a partial term and is applying for his first full term.
The Arts Commission requests that the Council formally ratify the appointment
during the regular meeting.
