ACTION
Approve the purchase and authorize the City Manager to sign a purchase order for

the equipment and installation services to upfit new police vehicles purchased in
2022 Ford Police Interceptor Utility A" -
police patrol fleet
fiscal year 2022.
ISSUE
The Springfield Police Department have purchased six vehicles for use in the patrol

division. The new vehicles require additional equipment and installation services to
$17,974.88
meet standardized patrol vehicle requirements.

DISCUSSION/
The Springfield Police Department has purchased six (6) vehicles for the Patrol
FINANCIAL
Division in fiscal year 2021-22. Each patrol vehicle requires additional upfit, which
IMPACT:
includes installation of equipment in accordance with the department's patrol
vehicle standards. The Department of Public Works mechanics have been included
in identifying necessary equipment and installation specifications.
The attached patrol vehicle upfit purchase order with Day Wireless is prepared in
accordance with City of Salem's contract #178014 which allows for cooperative
purchases. The proposed purchase order has a total cost of $104,314.
The vehicles receiving upfit and associated upfit pricing are detailed in the
following table.

upfit costs for patrol and patrol K9 vehicles are supported by vehicle reserve funds.
The vehicle upfit costs for the drug K9 vehicle are supported by federal forfeiture
funds.
Staff requests Council authorize the purchase and grant the City Manager approval
to sign vehicle upfit purchase order.
