Dear Ms. Hopper,
On Mon Jurp 16 I called for an inspection for my service and panel (elec.) on the
above permit. On Tueday, yorr very capable inspector (Dave) informed me that he would
love to pass me but my permit had expired due to inactivity for more than 180 days.
Looking on my p€rmit it indeed states (in red inlq no [ess) that if the permit is abandoned
for any 180 day perio4 it $/ill indeed expire. The last inspector contact I had with the crty
was on l?/28l0l, according to your records. I do, however, rerember giving Tom a copy
of my survey last year, in response to a neigbbor's conplaint, if that is considered a
contact. However, eventhat contact was over a year ago.
I am uniting to you to request an extension on my permit. Regprding this request
ad in s€rvice of sarre I can state: l. This is my own home, thd I work on as money and
time pernrit.2.'It:e flurry of activity in the first year of the permit produced a standing
home, in that this is a concrete house (insulated concrete forms). 3. I have in frct
continued to work on the house in the 6ea6inre and have completed roof, siding, prep
for paint, rrcne ofwhich will be inspected until framing. 4. I have completed service
(elec.) water supply, and rough plumbing, all of which I was waiting to complete so that I
could ask for these inspections in one week. 5. With these inspections out of the !May, I
could quickly complete my rough ebctrb and tben call for a framing inspection 6. My
understading is that had I spaced tkse inspections out so that there was no more than
180 days between theq my permit would have stayed current, a process that I could
easily have done if I had been informed by the city that my pennit was about to expire. 7.
I would argpe that I have not intentionally "abandod' the permit in that I have
continued to work on tlre house, only that my error was not aski.g for inspectirons in a
timely manner.
Ptease take the above into account as you consider my request. Also, I ,m
inchnding copies of my permit, inspection activfty ad I will try to copy my two receipts
(#s 5209 and 5748) but they have frded so badty I dont think they will be legible. I will be
happy to hand carry these receipts to you at any tirne for your perusal Please call me at
