Ron,
pertinent to your proposed mobile home reroofing, I have reviewed your sketch of the mobite home section'
the photograph, and ihe order sheet from Lynn Shreeve Mobile Home Roofing and Awnings. The section
shows that the existing pitch (l in 12) will be increased to meet a minimum roof slope requirement of 2in'12
pitch. This pitch incrJase requirement will be accommodated by adding a tapered thickness of polystyrene to
ihe roof Tlie polystyrene receives UV protection and weatherizing from a painted_aluminum sheet roofing'
The aluminum sheet ,r*., as protectivi membrane only, is fully supported by the foarq and has no structural
t.unction. The polystyrene is adhesive-bonded to the roof, and the metal is bonded to the polystyrene. A
continuous gutter und do*nrpouts will be added. The entire material list states a total weight of 500 lbs.
This results in an increaased roof load of about 0.5 lbs per foot.
The locally-produced mobile homes of this vintage have been shown capable of withstanding 25 psf snow
loads. The added weight of the roofing is 2% olthis snow load, therefore no significant overstress will
occur from use of this reroofing configuration.
