Dear Mr. Pfaff:
At your request the Building Divisjon of the City of Springfield made an
occupancy inspection on May 11, 1978, at the structure located at 942 I'lorth
28th Street. The building is presently used as a church. It'is our under-
standing that you now also wish to use the building as a school. It is
this additjonal use which prompted the inspection.
l*lhen occupancy of the build'ing was originally qranted it was agreed that the
parking facil'ities, fencing and landscaping would be completed at the earliest
convenience of the chapel staff. Due to a shortage of funds at that tjme
the City qranted a temporary occupancy of the building with the assurance
that these items would be completed jn a short period of time. Since that
t'ime additions to the buil<ling have been made but the above items have not
been completed.
Since several years have now passed, we feel that before further permits can
be'issued you should address the items that have not been completed. Enclosedjs the original plot plan showing the parkjng lot wjth catch bas'ins for cont-
rolling surface water, fencing and landscaping. Should you desire to make
any changes in the design we would be willjnq to consider the changes.
The required parking spaces, considerjng the amount of pews al'lowable in the
buildjng, would be 30. Feelinq confident that these items will be taken careof, and when approval by the Plannjng Commiss'ion is granted for a school, the
maximum occupant load for a school will be 50. If an approved fire alarm
system is installed the maximum occupancy load may be'increased to 150.
