Subject: Occupancy inspection at 305 S. 4th St.
Proposed Use: Gift Shop/Offices
Dear Mr. Nabeta,
At your request, the Community Services Division/Building Safety conducted an
inspection of the building at the above address. The purpose of the inspection
was to determine the suitability of the building for the proposed use as indicated.
Based on the proposed occupancy, the existing conditions which are mentioned
below do not meet the minimuqr Building Safety Code requirements. Corrective
measures must be taken prior to occupancy to install, repair, replace or modify
the following items in order for the building to conform to applicable safety
codes:
1. A complete floor plan of each floor of the building and its proposed use shall
be submitted for plan check.
2. Restroom facilities on the first floor shall be made handicapped accessible.
3. Each floor will require one class 2A-Fire extinguisher.
4. A handrail shall be provided at the interior staircase. Handrails shall not be
less than 30 inches or more than 38 inches above the line of nosings of the treads
and shall be continuous the full length of the stairs.

The above items are requirements for the existing structure only. Other items
such as parking, paving, site improvements, sidewalks, etc., have not been
addressed as part of this office regarding any necessary improvements to the site.
