HomeMy WebLinkAboutStudies APPLICANT 8/10/2021NORTHWOOD CHURCH DRAINAGE STUDY March 29, 2021 SITE CHARACTERISTICS The subject property is identified on County Assessor's Maps as 17-03-25-11 Tax Lot 2300. It is located on the north side of Maroola Rd. The site is an open field and consists of about 8.2 acres. EXISTING HYDROLOGY The site is relatively flat and the site drain into the existing ditch along the west side of the properly. PROPOSED HYDROLOGY The proposed drainage system consists of piping the proposed impervious drainage to three detention ponds. See attached Hydrology Map. North Basin The north basin collects the drainage from the parking spaces and walks on the north side of the building and half the church building and pipes the runoff to the north detention pond. The detention pond was sized using the TR -55 unit hydrograph storage indication method. The proposed outlet will drain into the existing adjacent ditch. The total existing flow from the site is 1.56 c.f.s. The total proposed flow from the detention pond will be reduced to 1.29 c.f.s. South Basin The south basin collects the drainage from the parking spaces and walks on the south side of the building and hag the church building and pipes the runoff to the south detention pond. The detention pond was sized using the TR -55 unit hydrograph storage indication method. The proposed outlet will drain into the existing adjacent ditch. The total existing flow from the site is 0.80 c.f.s. The total proposed flow from the detention pond will be reduced to 0.76 c.f.s. West Basin The west basin collects the drainage from the parking spaces and walks on the west side of the site and the proposed school building and pipes the runoff to the west detention pond. The detention pond was sized using the TR -55 unit hydrograph storage indication method. The proposed outlet will drain into the existing adjacent ditch. The total existing flow from the site is 0.21 c.f.s. The total proposed flow from the detention pond will be reduced to 0.18 c.f.s. Attached are the following for each drainage basin: 1. Pre -Development 10 -year flow (TR -55) 2. Post -Development 10 -year flow (TR -55) 3. Routed Post -Development 10 -year Flow (TR -55) 4. Stage -Discharge Curve 5. Stage -Storage Curve 6. Hydrograph of 10 -year Pre -development 5 -year Post -Development and 10 -year Routed Storm CONCLUSION Based on my calculations and the proposed drainage system is sized properly and will provide the necessary flow control.
