ITEM TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PORJECT P21171, CREST
LANE SANITARY SEWER EXTENSTION
ACTION
REQUESTED:
Adopt or reject the following resolution:
A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT CITY PROJECT P21171 CREST LANE AND
COMMERCIAL AVENUE OVERLAY
ISSUE
STATEMENT: The work on this project has been completed by Pacific Excavation and final
inspection, paperwork and approval has been completed by City Staff. The Project
is now ready for City Council to formally accept the work.

FINANCIAL
IMPACT:
The project included extending existing sanitary sewer lines, constructing one
private lateral, and restoring the pipe trench, curb and gutter, and sidewalk.
The total budget for this improvement was $32,000.00, which included the
development and administration of the construction contract. The final cost was
$36,450.00, which consisted of a change order for $3,750.00 for additional rock
excavation.
All work done under this contract has been completed and inspected by the City
Engineer and found to be satisfactory.
This project was completed through a Local Improvement District. This action
merely accepts the public improvement; it does not impose any assessment at this
time. The proposed assessment will be brought to the Council at a later date,
according to the procedures in SMC 3.050-3.074.

RESOLUTION NO. ___________
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT P21171,
WHEREAS, work on the improvement described below has been fully completed and has been
duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield: P21171, Crest Lane Sanitary
Sewer Extension, Capital Improvement Project;
WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the Capital
Improvement plans submitted by the Engineer of Record and approved by the City Engineer;
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that this Capital Improvement
Project be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the
City of Springfield,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SPRINGFIELD:
Section 1: The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for
future maintenance the above-described project and accepts said improvements.
Section 2: This Resolution will take effect upon adoption by the Council.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 17th day of May 2021,
by a vote of _____ for and ____ against.
