HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 04 Regional Fuel Facility Diesel Tank Replacement AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY Meeting Date: 4/5/2021 Meeting Type: Regular Meeting Staff Contact/Dept.: Mike Manley/DPW OPS Staff Phone No: 541-726-3652 Estimated Time: 5 Minutes S P R I N G F I E L D C I T Y C O U N C I L Council Goals: Maintain and Improve Infrastructure and Facilities ITEM TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF CAPITOL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT P11013; REGIONAL FUEL FACILITY DIESEL TANK REPLACEMENT PROJECT ACTION REQUESTED: Adopt or reject the following resolution: A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT CITY PROJECT P11013 REGIONAL FUEL FACILITY DIESEL TANK REPLACEMENT PROJECT ISSUE STATEMENT: The work on this Regional Fuel Facility 20,000-gallon diesel fuel tank project has been completed by C&K Petroleum Equipment, and the Final Inspection paperwork and approval has been completed by City Staff. The Project is now ready for City Council to formally accept the Project. ATTACHMENTS: 1. Resolution DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL IMPACT: This project included the replacement of a failed 20,000 gallon, double-walled diesel fuel tank. The existing tank was 30 years old and had developed internal leaks in the inner tank caused from rust. It was determined that the damage was extensive and not repairable. The total cost of this project will be shared by the Regional Fuel Facility Partners, City of Springfield, Springfield School District, Willamalane Parks and Recreation District and Rainbow Water District. The cost split is based on the percentage of fuel used methodology and the partners will be billed. The total project cost is $129,875.00. The total cost per agency breakdown is as follows: City of Springfield 53% $68,834 Springfield School District 37% $48,054 Willamalane Parks and Recreation District 8% $10,390 Rainbow Water District 2% $2,597 Total $129,875 {00018232:1} CITY OF SPRINGFIELD, OREGON RESOLUTION NO. ___________ RESOLUTION ACCEPTING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT P11013, WHEREAS, work on the improvement described below has been fully completed and has been duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield: P11013, Diesel Fuel Tank Replacement, Capital Improvement Project; WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the Capital Improvement plans submitted by the Engineer of Record and approved by the City Engineer; WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that this Capital Improvement Project be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the City of Springfield, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD: Section 1: The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for future maintenance the above-described project and accepts said improvements. Section 2: This Resolution will take effect upon adoption by the Council. ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 5th day of April 2021, by a vote of _____ for and ____ against.
