description of proposed home occupation structure
The proposed structure will be a hair salon. Home owners, Keith and Jenny Fisher, are
both hair stylists. They wish to work from home to more easily move between work and
family responsibilities. The Fishers would have about 20 plus customers per week. The
structure will have 3 rooms, salon main room, toilet room, closet, approximately 200 — 260
square feet, to be determined still. The existing driveway / parking area is 41' deep x 27'
wide, in front of the two -car garage. Driveway is on north east side of house, salon would
be in back yard on the south east. Customers would park in front of the house, walk along
the east side on an existing paved walkway to where the salon is. The salon will have a
fence obscuring it from street view.
1 have submitted concurrently a site review with Lane County for approval / alteration of
the current septic system for this home occupation structure. if we receive approval from
both Lane County for sanitation system and City of Springfield for flood plain elevation
we will draw up building plans and submit to Springfield.

E Any home occupation:
1. In violation of the provisions of this Code shall be subject to civil
infraction citation process of the Springfield Municipal Code, 1997,
Article 5.15.1. Any proposed home occupation, or component thereof,
not specifically identified in the Springfield Development Code shall be
prohibited unless authorized by the Springfield Planning Commission as
the result of an application for formalInterpretation.
2. Which has been approved by the Planning Commission shall be subject
to revocation by the Planning Commission if the home occupation is
found to be in violation of the approval standards. The revocation shall
be sent to the applicant in writing. The home occupation shall cease
within 30 days of the receipt of the revocation notice. The revocation
decision may be appealed to the City Council as specified in Section 5.3-
100.

Hello Mitch,
I've attached the application for Floodplain Development Review which will need to be submitted and reviewed
prior to building permit issuance. The fee for the application is $2134.65. The submittal requirements are listed in
the application packet. The office is open on Tuesdays andayFfir ys from 8-12 and 1-4 or it can be emailed or
mailed into our office. Payment can be submitted in person, online or over the phone. You'll need a licensed
surveyor for the plan and the required Elevation Certificates.
I haven't dealt with anyone recently at the Lane County Sanitarian. I think the last two people were Jay Matthison
and George Ehlers. I'm not sure if Thayne with Building knows of another contact but I've copied him here.
Also attached are the Home Occupation standards. The owner should read through these to make sure they can
comply with these standards as a Home Occupation, sign and send back to the City.
