ITEM TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT P21150; 14th
STREET AND COMMERCIAL AVENUE OVERLAY
ACTION
REQUESTED:
Adopt or reject the following resolution:
A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT CITY PROJECT P21150; 14TH STREET AND
COMMCERICAL AVENUE OVERLAY
ISSUE
STATEMENT:
The work on this project has been completed by Wildish Construction Co, and final
inspection, paperwork and approval has been completed by City Staff. The Project
is now ready for City Council to formally accept the work.

DISCUSSION/
FINANCIAL
IMPACT:
This project included resurfacing of 14th Street from Main to A Street and from E to
G Streets, resurfacing of Commercial Avenue from 42nd St approximately 500 feet
westward, upgrading ADA ramps at the corners of 14th and F Streets, two ADA
ramps at 16th and G Streets, and 3 ADA ramps on Commercial Avenue near 42nd
Street.
This project was funded through the voter approved Street Repair Bond with a
budget of $390,000, and completed with the final cost of $334,418 which consists
of $230,025 for construction and $104,393 for project development and
administration of the construction contract.
All work done under this contract has been completed and inspected by the City
Engineer and found to be satisfactory.

RESOLUTION NO. ___________
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT P21150,
WHEREAS, work on the improvement described below has been fully completed and has been
duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield: P21150, 14th Street and
Commercial Avenue Overlay, Capital Improvement Project;
WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the Capital
Improvement plans submitted by the Engineer of Record and approved by the City Engineer;
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that this Capital Improvement
Project be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the
City of Springfield,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SPRINGFIELD:
Section 1: The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for
future maintenance the above-described project and accepts said improvements.
Section 2: This Resolution will take effect upon adoption by the Council.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 15th day of March 2021,
by a vote of _____ for and ____ against.
