Hart 1216 Mohawk Blvd. Springfield, Oregon 97477 Re: Occupancy Inspection at 7132 Sth Street Dear Mr. Hart: At your request, the Building Division of the City of Springfield made an occupancy inspection on March 6, L979 at 1132 sth Street, Springfield, Oregon. Your request to change the use of this building from a residence (R-3 occupancy) to an office buj.lding (B-2 occupancy) necessitated this inspection. The following items must be repaired, replaced or installed to conform with the applicable codes. 1. A11 existing attic vents must be free of obstruction and an additional 500 square inches of net free ventilation provided for the attic. A11 crawl space vents must be free of obstructions. Windows between the house and attached carport sha11 not be openaltle A landing must be provided on both sides of all exit doors. The floor or land- ing sha11 be not more than one (1) inch lower than the threshold of the doorway. Where doors open over a landing, the landing sha11 have a length of not less than five (5) feet. Handrails must be provided at all stairways - i.e; front and rear exits. Install a drain pan under the water heater and pipe to the outside. InstalL a 3/4" pipe to the pressure relief valve on the water heater and pipe down and to the outside" B. A1t electrical wiring sha1l be a grounded type system. 9. Where boxes have been left recessed, install box exten-sions and relocate the outlet receptacles out to the surface of the wa11s as required by Article 370-10 of the National Electrical Code. 2 3 4 5 6 7 0ccuparrcy Inspection Page 2. Dan Smith Building Inspector DS/1j ,/O*,J,";4, 10. Remove cord in the attic being used in lieu of an approved wiring method, re- wire light by an approved method. LL. Remove all open splices and those not propcrly made up in approved junction boxes. Rewire making up al1 splices in boxes in an approved manner. L2. Remove the 40 ampere branch circuit breakers from #10 copper conductors and the 30 ampere branch circuit breakers from the #12 copper conductors. Re- place with proper size circuit breakers. Note Article 310 table 310-16 of the National Electrical Code. 13. Ground the service panel neutral bus to the water pipes in the house with at least a #6 copper grounding conductor. A11 property that is being leased, rentecl or for sale is rerlrrired to be wired by a qualified licensed electrical contractor. A11 necessary permits shal1 be obtained bcl'ore work starts and all work shall be accomplished according to the applicable codes with inspectjons and approvals be- fore a Certificate of Compliance will be issued.
