Springfield City Council & City of Springfield,
I am writing today to announce that I am stepping down as mayor of Springfield, Oregon effective
immediately.
I make this decision with a heavy heart. The role of mayor has been an enormous honor. Springfield is
such a wonderful community. I have always felt blessed to serve as your mayor.
Currently, I need to take some time for myself and my family. I have complete confidence that the city
council will make the best decisions on behalf of the residents of Springfield and continue Springfield’s
reputation for practical, pragmatic and common sense approaches to the overwhelming issues we are
facing.
