ITEM TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT P21145; SOUTH
54TH STREET PATH
ACTION
REQUESTED:
Adopt or reject the following resolution:
A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT CITY PROJECT P21145; SOUTH 54TH STREET
PATH
ISSUE
STATEMENT:
The work on this project has been completed by City of Springfield Operations
staff, and final inspection, paperwork and approval has been completed by City
Staff. The Project is now ready for City Council to formally accept the work.

DISCUSSION/
FINANCIAL
IMPACT:
This project included construction of a 12-ft wide multi-use path between S. 54th
Street and Daisy Street, with lighting improvements and tree plantings.
The Council authorized a capital budget for this project of $90,000. This project has
been completed with the final cost of $83,552 which consists of $80,902 for
construction and $2,650 for project development and administration of the
construction contract. This project provided a good training opportunity for our
Operations staff apprentices.
All work done under this contract has been completed and inspected by the City
Engineer and found to be satisfactory.

RESOLUTION NO. ___________
ACCEPTANCE
WHEREAS, work on the improvement described below has been fully completed and has been
duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield:
P21145; SOUTH 54TH STREET PATH
WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the contracts now on
file in the City Recorder’s office; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that these improvement projects be
accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the City of
Springfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SPRINGFIELD:
Section 1: The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for
future maintenance the above-described project and accepts said improvement from the
Developer involved.
Section 2: This Resolution will take effect upon adoption by the Council and
approval by the Mayor.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 7th day of December
2020, by a vote of _____ for and ____ against.
