Chambers and Associates 1.819 Garden Avenue Eugene, Oregon 97405 RE: Structural Welding and High-Strength Bolting For Borden Chemical Company, City Job Number 831751 Dear Lee, gur records reveal that the above referenced project, the erection of a But1er Steel Building canopy over the reSin tanks for Borden Chenical Company at 610 South 2nd Street, Springfield, Oregon has never received a final inspection or Certificate of Occupancy fron the Springfield Building Safety Division for the following reasons: 1. Section 306 (a-4) of the Springfield Building Safety Codes requires that a special inspector be employed to inspect and approve all structural welding performed on the job site. 2. Section 306 (a-5) imposes similar requirements for inspection of high-strength bolting. 3. The City Building Inspector cannot perfor:n a final inspection and issue the re- quired Certificate of 0ccupancy for the structure until the above inspections are performed and the inspection reports are received by the City Building Safety Division. For your reference, I have enclosed copies of the above mentioned Sections from the Springfield Building Safety Codes. Please research your records to verify if perhaps the inspections were performed, but the inspection reports were not mailed to us.
