Dear Mr. Elfring:
On September 1, 1981 a service equipment inspection was made at the above
address at the request of the Springfield Utility Board. The following
are some, but not all, of the defects found.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
The electrical system has been improperly altered and maintained and con-
stitutes hazardous wiring as described in Section 1001 (e) of the Uniform
Housing Code as adopted by the City of Springfield. Although the exist-
ing system nay have met the standards of the code that was in effect at
the tine of its installation, alterations, and/or improper maintenance re-
quire corrections to be made in accordance with both the Uniform Housing
Code as adopted by the City of Springfield and the current Oregon State
Electrical Specialty Code (E.S.C.). Oregon Electrical Safety Law Section
22-1t0 (.b) states that electrical work performed on property that is for
rent, sale or lease, sha1l be done by an electrical contractor.
1) Service drop does not have sufficient clearance over roof (8' is re-quired). National Electrical Code 230-24 (a)
2) Service conductor not continuous from service head (point of attacluuent)
to the metering equipment. National Electrical Code %A-46
3) Service conduit not large enough for size and number of conductors.

4) Splices in junction box are not properly installed. National Electri-
ca1 Code 346-74
5) No ground bushing on conduits on load side serr,rice panel
