Subject: Courtesy fnspection at 582 N 28th Street #D Springfield, Oregon.

At the request of your tenant, the Springfield Building Safety Division
recently conducted an inspection of your property at the above address.
The inspection revealed iteus which do not meet tbe minimum City Housing
Code requirements and must be corrected. They consist of the following:
Structural
1. The deck railing is loose and shall be secrred to the structure by
appropriate ueans. The rail nust be capable of withstanding a load of
fourty pounds/ L.F. horizonal pressure.
2. The front door weather stripping has deteriorated and shall be replaced.
This has allowed moisture to enter by the front door and has caused the
floor covering to lift.
3. A fire extinguisher shall be accessible to all occupants with a ninimum
rating of 2A (recomend a 5 pound ABC nulti-purpose type). The
extinguisher may be placed in a locked cabinet with a break glass front to
discourage vandelisrn
Electrical
4. An approved smoke detector shall be installed in corridors or rooms giving
access to bedrooms.
5. The 15 AMP breaker supplying the living and bedroon lighting receptacles
did not trip automatically when subjected to over current conditions.
This breaker shall be replaced. The receptacle devices in this circuit,
especially the bedroom, became hot to the touch during the over current
condition which indicates loose connections in the wiring at the

6. Recomend all appliances be used on a 20 At'lP appliance circuit to
eliminate ""V f"i"re problems of electrical overloading.
The above items shall be replaced or repaired and reinspection request
made within thirty (30) days of this letter.
