SUBJECT: Additional Housing Code violations occurring at 159 North 12th Street,
Springfieid, Oregon, Job #860888.
Dear Ms. Queen;
Today, at the request of your tenant, Mr. Bill Beggs, a second Courtesy Inspec-
tion waa performed aL the Subject Address. This inspection revealed the
following violation of the City Housing Code which is in addition to those
violations stated in the City's earlier letter to you dated December 15, 1986
(attached):
ELECTRICAL VIOLATION:
Electric wiring was observed protruding from a junction box without a
cover located in a column in the south bedroom. The protruding wires
must be placed in the junction box and an approved cover must be installed
in order to prevent the potential of electrical shock.
Please note that an electrical building permit is required for the above repair.
The permit may be obtained at this office.
During today's inspection, it was noted that the Housing Code Violations
specified in the City's earlier letter to you were not corrected.
The completion date noted for Housing Code violations specified in the City's
earlier letter to you was January 15, 198?.

SUBJECT: Courtesy Inspection #860888 performed at 159 North LZLb Street,
Springfield, Oregon.
Dear Ms. Queen;
On December 10, 1.986, at the request of your tenant, Mr. Bill Beggs, a Courtesy
Inspection was performed at the subject address.
This inspection revealed the following violations of the City Housing Code:
Evidence of water penetration was noticed in ceiling areas around
the skylight in the south bedroom. The roof and associated
flashing around the bedroom skyiight must be made waterproof.
A permanent comfort heating source is not provided in the east
bedroom. AII habitable rooms must be served by a comfort
heating source capable of maintaining a room temperature of 70
degrees F. at a point 3 feet above the floor.
3.The electric light immediately above the kitchen cook stove is
connected to its power source (the stove) with improper electri-
cal wiring. The wiring also contains open splices made with
improper connectors. The light above the stove must be rewired
in :rn approved manner, or the wiring to the light may be
disconnected at its source.
Please consider the health and safety of your tenants and correct the above
Housing Code violations immediately. It is the City's policy to allow thirty days
from the dal,e of this Courtesy Letter for corrections to occur.
Electrical permits are required for items 1 and 2 above and must be obtained at
this office.
