City Job #BB02ZZ At the request of your tenant, the Springfield Building Safety Division recently conducted an inspection of your property at the above address. The inspection revealed items which do not neet the minimum City Housing Code requirements and nust be corrected. They consist of the following: Structural 1. The front door ]rnob shall be repaired or replaced. Electrical 2. fmproper use of extension cords was noted, which when used in P1ace of peruanent wiring is potentiallS. hazardous and can cause electrical shock or fire. Extensions cords shall not be run through rvaI1s, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, or similar openings. 3. Inoperable baseboard heaters sha1l be properly repaired or replaced. 4. The electrical wiring that is exposed and susceptible to physical darnage at the baseboard heater shal} be protected in an approved manner. 5. The baseboard heaters shal1 be properly secured to the wa1ls. 6. All heaters with thermostats shalI be provided with control knobs. 7. AI1 damaged wall receptacles and switches shall be replaced. 8. Check for loose connections in the l<itchen lighting circuit. 9. The rviring supplying the detached shed shall be removed or replaced in an approved manner. 225 Fifth Street . A licensed electrical contractor is required for all new worl< and substantial alterations to existing structures which are for sa1e, leaseor rent. However, work on alterations to and replaeement of parts forelectrical devices which is necessary for maintenance of approved existingelectrical installations may be done by the or+ner of the property.
