At your request the Building Division of th'e City of Springfield inspected the
existing wood stove in the house located at 345 North 22nd Street, Springfield,
Oregon on Friday 25, 1.979.

The stove is not installed in accordance with the manufactures instructions or
with the listing. The fireplace must be installed with the back located a mini-
mum of 18 inches from combustible surfaces and the sides located a minimum of
36 inches as measured to the side of the firebox opening. The unit must be in-
stalled on a noncombustible hearth extension. The hearth extension must extend
at least 20 inches in front of and 12 inches beyond the sides of the unit. The
vent connector (smoke pipe) must be connected to an approved chimney. The exist-
ing chinney cannot be approved for use with this unit.
