HomeMy WebLinkAboutMiscellaneous Correspondence 2002-12-18From: To: Date: Subject: Brian PARMELEE BARNHART, Robert, GERARD, Al; HOPPER, Lisa; PUENT, Dave 12118102 6:21PM Springfield schools This is a recap of our conversations regarding some physical and use changes that I have noticed to buildings in the Springfield School District during my fire inspections. 1. Springfield High - Wall removed between the two drafting classrooms. Bob Barnhart wilt check on this. 2. Yolanda Elementary - Fence put up between the parking lot and the school buildings. Egress is available through gates with "crash bars on them". Fire department access has been restricted to entering into the office only. Permits not required for fences anymore. I am presently working on a solution to our access with the school district. 3. Thurston High - Pocket Theater - HVAC duct work done. Presently there is a hole in the wallwhere the old duct work went thru. No permit visible. Bob Barnhart said that Comfort Flow heating had gotten apermit. Also some of the railings on the risers have been removed. I will check the helght oi the riser to see if they are lower that 30". 4. Thurston High - Auto shop - The auto shop has been turned into a practice area for cheerleaders. The equipment has been stacked in the area where the car lifts are located and are blocking both exits out of the area. Presently the two exits on the north side are blocked. Total square footage ii approx. 5g30 sq.ft. The area where most of the storage is located is approx. 1170 sq. ft and the ch6erleader area is approx. 4660 sq. ft. The school is clearing out the NW exit from this area which will give the cheerleader area two exits. Dave Puent has agreed that if the school blocks off student access to the storage area then the two remaining exits will be sufficient.
