ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve the following motion: TO AWARD THE SUBJECT CONTRACT TO KNIFE RIVER CORPORATION - NORTHWEST IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,137,112.71.
ISSUE STATEMENT: Four bids were received on this project. Contract award is now necessary to enable work to proceed.

DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The Virginia-Daisy Bikeway - Phase 1A construction project will grind and overlay
the existing asphalt roadway, construct ADA ramps, sidewalks, driveways, a vegetated stormwater planter, raised crosswalks, storm water facilities, speed cushion, landscaping, signage, medians, striping, and other associated features.
The following bids were received and opened on March 31, 2020: Engineer’s Estimate $1,314,278.00 Knife River Corporation – Northwest $1,137,113.71 Eugene Sand and Gravel $1,153,719.00 Wildish Construction Company $1,282,267.25 Brown Contracting, Inc. $1,374,675.00 Knife River Corporation - Northwest is the low bidder on this project. The City has budgeted Sufficient funds for this project with federal and state grant funds totaling $1.18 million, and City match in Stormwater and Street Capital funds totaling $698,120 to allow award of the contract.
