Dear Ms. Hess: In October 1986rthis office was notified of an alleged property line encroachment of a manufactured housing unit and attached accessory structure located at the subject address, of which you are the owner of record. Subsequent surveys which were apparently made by licensed surveyors for the adjoining property owner and confirmed by your own surveyor, have determined that the encroach- ment does exist. Our records show that the manufactured home was placed on your property with the required permit and inspections, but with the use of an inaccurate plot plan. which shows the unit placed well within the property boundary. The inspector who approved the setup has indicated that property line indicators on the site at the time of inspection showed sufficient clearance between the manufactured home and the indicated property line. The accessory structure was subgequently added to the home without the necessary permits and inspections. This matter was discussed with you on several occasions during the months of November 1986 through January 1987. On those occasions, f indicated that the encroachment must be resolved either by acquiring additional property from the adjoining property owner or by removal of the accessory structure and relocating the manufactured home on your property with the required property line setback. fn recognil,ion of the personal difficulties this matter presents to you, a period to obtain compliance was granted through the recent holidays. The compliance period has now passed and appropriate action to resolved this matter is now necessary. In view of the circumstances, the City must require that the illegal accessory structure be removed from the property prior to March 3, 198?, and that the property line setback encroachment by the manufactured home be corrected and verified by City staff before April 3, 1987.
