Dear Aaron:
Soils at the above referenced site are Pengra silt loam. The surface layer is a dark brown silt loam
approximately 8 - 12 inches thick. The subsoil is a grayish brown silt clay.
The site is excavated for a split level home. Depth of excavation is approximately 36" at the
south and 12 " at the north.
Pocket Penetrometer tests were conducted at the north and south sides of the excavation. Results
indicate the soils at the north side of the excavation have an estimated bearing capacity 1200 psf.
The soils at the south side have an estimated bearing capacity 2000 psf.
The scope of services ordered by you was limited to inspection of the soil only. No other aspects
of the site or construction were examined.
