The surface layer is a dark brown silt loam approximately 8 - 12 inches thick. The subsoil is a grayish brown silt clay. The site is excavated for a split level home. Depth of excavation is approximately 36" at the south and 12 " at the north. Pocket Penetrometer tests were conducted at the north and south sides of the excavation.
