Sprinqfield - Sitelsoils - W.O. #13107-RDR As you requested, a site inspection was performed on August 29. 2000 during excavation by Express Co. The site consists of 2" to 3" of imported fill over 12" to 24" ol silty clay loam over highly expansive clay soils, Based on these observations the following recommendations are made. - A minimum of 18" of cover should be maintained over the expansive clay. This cover can either be 12" of compacted crushed rock over 6" of the silty clay loam or 18" of compacted crushed rock over the expansive clay. The subgrade should also be sloped to facilitate the movement of any subsurface water to the driveway. Based on inspections during and after the excavation these recommendations were followed. On August 5, 2000, a compaction inspection was performed and the compacted surface of the crushed rock is adequate for a foundation bearing capacity of 1500 psf, which is adequate to support the proposed conventional wood framed residence. The compacted surface of the gravel surface is greater than g5% of a standard proctor per ASTM D698-91. I hope you find this report adequate for your purposes at this time.
