Re: SDC Section 36.L35 Temporary Use- Emergency Medical Hardship
Dear Ms. Parr,
I/hen the Springfield Development Code (SDC) vas amended in l-991" to provide for
siting temporaiy emergency quarters for medical hardships, there vas no
previ[us tiack record-for-hov long this use vould ]ast. The SDC alloved the
temporary emergency quarters for one year, vith one additional reneval
"ppii"ution foi onl ye"r. There vas no procedure for situations vhich lasted
bLyond tvo years. Your particular situation (Jo. No. 93-02-25) required
re"neval .s -of March t0 vlrich vould have included a nev application, fee and
notice.
Hovever, the SDC has been amended as of March 7 to allov for yearly renevals
requiring only a doctor's letter stating that the original condition continues
or has giovn vorse, rather than a fuII application, fee and notice.
In order for the trailer to remain on your propertyr You vilL need to send to
my attention an updated note from your doctor stating that Chester Parr sti]L
requires the care provider to live in the trailer.
