Dear Mr. And Ms. Jones:
The structure located at the above address, more particularly described as Lane County
Assessor's Map & Tar Lot number 1702303407300, is an unsafe and zubstandard
building as described in the Springfield Building Safety Codes Administrative Code.
Lane County Assessment and Ta:ration records indicate you are the owner of this
property.
Section 203 ofthe Administrative Code describes buildings, which are substandard or
unsafe as those, which are structurally inadequate, have inadequate egress, or which
constitute a potential fire hazard or are otherwise dangerous to human life. The following
items include, but are not limited to, conditions existing at the structure classifying it as i
substandard building:
L As a result of a substantial fire, the structural soundness of the roof,, flooq and
wall members are no longer able to zupport imposed loads.
2. The existing electrical system has been damaged beyond repair by fire, and
requires replacement.

Section 202 of the Springfield Housing Code requires that structures classified as
substandard must either be repaired or demolished. Thereforg this is your notice that you
must secure permits to either rebuild/repair the structure where it is djficient or demolishit.
Section 104 ofthe Springfield Building Codes Administrative Code requires that the
ry.pairy mJtt comply with the provisions of the Structural, Plumbing Iriechanical andElec'tricd Specialty Codes. Ifthe building is to be rebuilt or repair&, permits must be
purchased and work must commence within 30 days from the date of service ofthis
notice and order.

If the building is to be demolished dernolition work must oommence within 30 dayg
and must be completed within 60 days from the date of this notice and order.
Completion mearxi that the structure and the property must be inspected and approved
by the appropriate representatives ofthe Community Services Divisioq Building
Safety. The sewer must be capped at the property line or the septic tank must be
pumped and filled by a person holding a seu/age disposal service license as provided
fir in Chapter 34A, Division 7 ofthe Oregon Administrative Rules.
Ifyou do not seek corrective action within the time fianre outlined above, the City
may seek with the Building Saf€ty Codes through legal recourse, which
may include Municipal Coua Proceedings orthe Crty may proceed to eliminate the
hazard and charge the costs thereof against the property or its owners.
Ary person having any record title or legal interest inthe building may appeal from
this notice and order to the Building Board of Appeals, provided that the appeal is
made in uniting and filed with the City Building Official within 30 days from the date
of service of this notice and order. Failure to appeal will constitute a waiver of all
rights to an administrative hearing and determination in this manner.
