SUBSURFACE AND ALTERNATIVE SEII'AGE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS:
1. Permits shall be effective for one year from the date of issuance.
2. Upon completing the construction for which a pernit. has been j"ssued, the permit holder shalInotify the Lane County Departrent of Planning and Comunity Developnent by submitting thej'nstallation lecord form. The Department shall inspect the constructi.on lo deternine it itcomPlies with the rul'es contained in this division. If the construction does conpty wiih suchruIes, the Department shall issue a certifj.cate of satisfactory completion to the'pLrmiijlotaer.1f the construction does not comply with such rul-es, the Depar-tment-shall notify the permitholder and shall requrre satisfactory compl"e!ion before issuing the ce!tj.ficat;. Your permit application for a wood burning appliance has expired. Eachpermit issued by the building official, under the provisions of theBuilding Code (Oregon State Mechanical Specialty Code) shall expire bylimitation and become null and void if the work authorized by suchpermit is not commenced within 180 days from the date of such permit,
or if the work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at
any time after the work is commenced for a period of 1-80 days. Nopermit shall be extended more than once. [Sec. 303 (d) OSl,Ic]
Sect,ion 3o5(d) OSMC states: rtlt shall be the duty of the person doingthe work authorized by a permit to notify the buildingr official that
such work is ready for inspection. rl
In addition, Section 303(c) OSI{C, says: trThe issuance of a permit or
approval of plans, specifications and computations shall not be
construed to be a pennit for, or an approval of, any violation of anyof the provisions of this code or of other ordinance of thejurisdiction. rt
Recentlyr dn agreement was made between Lane County and the cities of
Eugene and Springfield resulting in the creation of an 'UrbanTransition Area' where the respective city codes apply as weII as theState of Oregon Building Code. Since the cities and Lane County utilizethe same State of Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code, the sectionreferences listed above apply in aII jurisdictions.
If your address is within a city Urban Transition Area or within thecity linits, you must make application for any anticipated permitactivity for a wood burning appliance (or other activity) with yourcity'building department'.
