SUBJECT: Courtesy Inspection performed at 160 N. 20th St.Springfield, Or., Apartment ltz.
Dear Mrs. Heiney:
On July 7th, L987, Bt the request of your tenant Mr. Kevin
Beauchamp, this office performed Courtesy Inspection at the
Subjectr:Address. This inspection revealed the following
violations of the City's Housing Code:
!. The front entranqe door does not shut securely and
does not provide adequate weather protection for
tenants. The front door must be adjusted and/or
weather stripping must be installed so that thefront door shuts securely
2. The glass in the windows of the apartment is not
securely fastened to the metal window frame. Theglass in the windows must be securely fastened to
window frame gasket in order to provide adequate
weather protection and safety for tenants.
The soffett underneath the corner of the northwest
balcony is water-damaged and is in danger of col-lapsing. Water-damaged material in the soffett must
be replaced and fastened to the balcony in an ap-
proved manner.
The north balcony joist to which the balcony guardrail posts are attached is loose and must be se-curely attached to the balcony joists and supportsin orderi to prevent the potential collapse of theguardrail.

5. The southeast stair assembly (rails and stringers)are loose. The stringers and rails must be secure-1y fastened by approved means such as metal brackets.
6. The northwest metal dorvnspout contains a puncture
which may expose tenants to injury if they were to
come into contact with the damaged area of the down-spout. The dovmspout must be repaired so thaL ex-
posed sharp edges of the punctured area are pro-
tecLed frorn accidental contact by tenants.
It is the City's policy to allow thirty (30) days from thedate of this iettLr for repairs to be lompleted-.

Dear Mrs. Heiney:
On July 7Lh, 1987, at the request of a tenant, we inspected your apartment
complex at 160 N. ?OLt. St. During this inspection of apartment #2 we dis-
covered inadequate front door weather stripping and poorly secured front window
panes.
Further inspection of the outside of the premises revealed an unsupported
section of soffet, inadequately secured railings and a damaged downspout.
A final inspection by this office on the tenth of August confirmed that all
repairs had been completed. These repairs meet the Springfield Housing Code,
and were made in a timely fashion.
Thank you for your efforts in this matter, I appreciate your promptness in
addressing this problem. If I can be of any further assistance, please contact

SUBJECT: Inspection of work completed in response to initial Courtesy Inspect-
ion conducted July 7, L987 at 160 N. 20th St., Apartment #2.
Dear Mrs, Heiney:
On July 7lh, L987, at the request of your tenant Mr. Kevin Beauchamp, this
office performed a Courtosy Inspection at the Subject Address. A list of
neceasary repairs was compiled, and you were allowed thirty days to complete
the repairs.
A follow up inspection made on July 271h, 1987, revealed that the soffet under-
neath the corner of the northwest balcony has been inadequately repaired.
Proper repair of the soffet will entail removal of the damaged piece of gypsum
board as far back as the next available joist, and replacement of the gypsum
board.
It is the City's policy to allow fifteen (15) days from the date of this letter
for repairs to be made in response to a follow-up inspection. Please contact
us when the repairs have been completed.
The City thanks you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.
