Section 711 of the Oregon State P'lumbing Specia'l-ty Code (PSC) states: "...an approved type grease interceptor complying r,rith the provisions of this section shali be installed in the waste line leading from sink, drains, and other fixtures, or equipment in the following establishments: restaurants, cafes, lunch counter, cafeterias, bars, c'lubsl hotel , hospita] , sanitarium, factory, or school kitchen, or other establishments where grease may be introduced into the drainage or sewage system in quantities that can effect line stoppage or hinder sewage treatment or private sewage disposal..." Your establishment has been inspected and it was found that in order'to comply with the above, you wi1l need to install a grease interceptor. Flow control devices shall be so designed that the total flow through such device or devices shal I at no time be greater than the rate capacity of the interceptor. No flow control device having adjustable or removable parts shal I be approv.ed. . ., ' Since the build-up of grease in the lines and lift station wet wells causes a great amount of maintenance iesulting in unwarranted costs to the public, a city-w'ide program to determine the adequacy and condition of these installations is being conducted by a Springfie'ld Water Pollution Control Plant Representative. AII necessary permits shall be obtained before work begins and alI inspections for such work shall be required by calling the City of Springfield inspection line at 726-3769.
