In the planning stages for three years, the spningfietd sign ordinance is a p::oduct
of the combined efforts of a speeiar sign subcommittee forrned by the Planning commis-
sion, representatives of the Springfiera CnamUe:: of Co:nmerce, and the Springfield Com-
mittee fo:r Citizen InvoLvernent. e-number of public hear:ings also occured fon fu:rther
citizen input. Then, in Januany 1931, the spningfield city council adcpted the new
Sign Cndinance.
