RE: Electrical Safety Inspection at 734 North 14th Street, Springfield, oregon
Dear Mr. Kline:

At the request of the Springfield Fire Department an Electrical Safety Inspectionwas perforned by the Springfield Building Safety Division on Decernber 5, f-gSS atthe above referenced address. At that time the following unsafe and hazardous con-ditions were found to exist that do not meet minir.r* ,"qrirements of the SpringfieldElectrical Specialty Safety Code:
1. Use of extension cords is not approved for permanent wiring. Install outletssupplied fron metalic raceway system adjacent to cord connicted equipment.Extension cords can cause fires
2. Install approved cord and cap connections to suspended lighting fixtures.Proper grounding increases rrf"ty.
3. Replace missing switch and outlet cover plates, junction box covers and installknock out seals where conduits have been .removed. Open holes can al1ow electri-
. cal sparks or molten metal to escape and cause fire.
NOTE:, The apparent use of the building requires a metalic-raceway systen as the wiringnethod. Repair and maintenance of the existing raceways would elirninate nost of theexisting defects.
The Building Safety Division will check on the progress in 30 days from the date ofthis letter. Please direct all inquiries to the Springfield nuitding Safety Divisionat 726-3753.
