Re: Occupancy Inspection at 1166 North 7th Street
Dear I{s . Turner:
At your request the Building Division of the city of springfield nade an occupancyinspection at 1166 North 7th Street, springfield,oregon, on January J, Lg7g.
Your proposal to change the use of the building from a Residence (R-3 occupancy) toa day care center (E-4 occupancy) necessitated the inspection.
The building is located in an R-1 zone, which is for residences only. Before youcould operate a day care center at this location you must obtain a conditional UsePermit from the Springfield planning Department.
The following items must be repaired or replaced to conform with the applicablecodes before the Building Division will isiue a Certificate of Complianie.
1. Handrails required at the front porch stairs and at the stairs fron the kitchento the utility room.
2' If the chimney is to be used for any purpose, it should be cleaned. The openingcut into the back side of the chimney must be sealed.

Provide an access door to the water heater
Replace the broken toilet seat.
A reinspection of the water heater will be required to assure us that there is a
Pressure relief valve, a shut off valve, and that the pressure relief valve ispiped to the outside.
Install an approved G.F.I. receptacle in the restroom.
Install three (3) wire, grounding type, receptacles where they are within five (s)feet horizontally or eight (8) feet verticalry of a grounded surface.i.e. - range top, range hood, sink, etc.

8 Install three wire, grounding type s),stem, in all areas where there are concrete
floors.
The service panel must be grounded to the cold nater line and a grounding elect-
rode with approved clamps.
10. Install an approved circuit for the washing machine.
A11 necessary perfmits shall be obtained before work starts and all work shatl be ac-
complished according to applicable codes and inspected before a Certificate of Com-
pliance will be issued.
