Dear Mr. Schneider:
0n January 12,1978, at your request, the Building Divisjon of the Cr'ty ofSpringfield rrtade an occupancy inspection of the structure located at 124 l,lorth4th Street, Sprjngfield,0regon. The proposed change of rrse from a church to anoffice facil ity necess'itated the occupancy inspectjon. The proposed new use ofthe structure will classify it as a F-2 occupancy.
The follow'ing are sonte of the partictrlar iterns r,;hich shal'l be 'instal led, repaired,or replaced jn order to conforrn to the applicable Codes as adopted by the City ofSpringfield:
1. The light fixture junct'ion boxes in the restroonr shall be flush t,rith thefinished surface or extension rings and fixture insulation instal led.
2. The sw'itch box conta'ining four sw'itclres in the d'ining roonr shall be flush withthe surface or the extension rings jnstal led.
3. -All wiring sha'11 be installed in condujt. 0pen ronrex wirjng is not permitted.
4- The servjce panel conta'ins too many majn breakers. Sjx is the nraxjmurn allowed.
5. The floor receptacle on the stage shall be of an approved type.
6. The 230 volt outlet and conduit in the nursery shall be secured.
7. cover and guard bare wires at switch box anLiroom off stage.
6. All floor plugs shall cornp"ly with Natjonal Electric Code and be repa.ired.
9. Wiring in the attic area over the kitchen shall be replaced and brought to Code.
10. t^liring in the attic areas above the ar.rditorium and trpstairs rooms shall be re-paired and replaced. All junction boxes nrust have covers.

Each required exit door shall conform with Sectjon 3303 of the Uniform Building
Code.
.l4. The upstairs corrjdor shall be provided with an approved exit at each end. The
corridors shall also conform with Sect'ion 3304 of the lJniform Build'ing Code.

fire-res'istant construction as stated in Sect'ion 3305 of the Un'iform Building
Code.

21. The tojlet room floors shall have a smooth, hard, nonabsorbent surface such
as portland cenrent, concrete, ceramic tjle or other approved nraterjal vrhjch
extends upward on to the wall at least 5". I,lalls withjn water closet com-
partments and withjn 2 feet of the front and side of urinals shall be sim'i-
1a11y finished.
22. The structure shall be inspected by the Springfield Fire Marshal's Office.
The Bu'i1d'ing Division and the Fire Marshal's Offjce rv'il I require a complete set of
plans and specifications indicating hol the structure wjll be remodeled to meet the
requirements of a F-2 occupancy as specifjed jn the Uniform Building Code. Permjtswill be required for all work performed and inspections shall be called for.

Dear Sirs;
On January 19, tg7g, the Building Division made a housing inspection on
on the structure located at 324 North 4th Street, Springfield, Oregon.
The proposed use to remain as a single family residence necessitated
the housing inspection.
The following items are in need of repair or replacement in order for
the structure to conform to the Codes as adopted by the City of Spring-
field:
1. Replace the light fixture in the kitchen.
2. Replace the wiring to the water heater with approved type and size,
install wire in a rnetal racewaY.
3. Remove unused wire leaving electrical panel and terminating in
panel room.
4. Ground all electrical heaters.
5. Replace grounding type receptacles (three prong) with polarized
type (two prong) on two wire circuits.
6. Reroute pipe from pressure relief valve on the water heater, down
the water heater, then to the outside
7. Install a drain pan under the water heater and drain to the outside.
B. Install a 3/4 inch fu11 way gate valve on the cold water inlet pipe
to the water heater.
9. Install a valve and spout above the flood 1evel on the tub.

10. The headroom for the stairs is less than 6 feet 6 inches.
11. Install window stops and locks on all windows
1,2. Replace the broken glass in the bedroom window.
l-3. Seal the hole in the floor around the tub.
A11 necessary permits shall be obtained before work starts and all work
shall be accomplished according to applicable codes and inspected before
a Certificate of Compliance will be issued.
