RE:Mill & Grain Building, sourh 2'd & South B srreer, Springfield, oregon
s0737.O00
Dear Nir. Mclean:
on october 29, 2003' PBS conducted an asbestos survey of all suspect asbstos-containing
materials to be impacted during the demolition of the vtitl & Grain Builiing located at South 2d& South B Street, in Springfield, oregon. This survey was conducted prior to demolitionactivities.
One sample of suspect asbestos-containing roofing was collected from the only suspect material
seen within the Mill and_Grain Building. The walls, floors, and ceiling upp"ur"d to contain onlywood products. The roofrng was composed of 3-tab shingles and associited feltltar. The onlypositive material discovered during field and laboratory anilysis is the roofing tar, found on theroofing felt.
Please refer to the sample inventory on the following page for specific sample results andlocations. Other materials may be present concealed within wall, ceiling o, iloo, spaces. If
suspect materials are uncovered during demolition or renovation activities thut a." not identified
in this suryey, testing should be performed prior to impact.
Enclosed are copies of the bulk sample inventory, laboratory report, and sample chain of custody.
Please feel free to call -me if you have any questions regarding these resulL. As requested, theLane Regional Air Pollution Authority (LRAPA) conrac-t for ipecific demolition allowances isTom Freeman, (541) 726-25 14.
