Dear Mr. Pierce:
The Springfig'!d Building Code Administrative Code requires that, in order for a permitto remain valid, construction work authorized by it must begin within 180 days fi^om thedate of purchase of the permit. If work is suspended or abindoned during thl course ofconstruction for a period exceeding 180 days, the permit will automaticaTly expire.
If a permit has exp'ired and suspension and/or abandonment of work on a project has not
exceeded.one year, a permit to start or resume work may be purchased for one half thefee required for a comparable new permit, provided thai no lhanges have been made'inthe original plans and/or spec'ifications.
If a permit has not yet expired and a perm'it holder anticipates the need for more timeto begin construction work, the Superintendent of Build.ing may choose to grant a onetime extension of the permit not to exceed 180 days upon ieceipt from the permit holderof a written request exp'laining why the extens'ion is necessary.
The attached form indicates the most recent information in our records with regard toconstruction activity associated with your permit, Please advise this office 6f your
intentions with regard to the permit by ten (10) days from the date of this 'letter.

The project was last inspected on February 1, 1980
The 1979 0regon State Building Code, Section 303 (d), explains that any building
permit for which work is not started within 180 days of issuance, or if work is
suspended for a period of 180 days, the building permit shall expire by Iimita-tion and become null and void.
Since the only verification this division has of work being done on a projectis by the inspections performed, we do not know what the status of your projectis. If you have proceeded on this project and are ready for inspection pleasecall 726-3769 and request the necessary inspection. If conditions beyond your
control have prevented you from proceeding on this project, please submit aletter stating the circumstances and if conditions warrant the Building Official
may extend your application for a specified period of time. If this building
permit is allowed to expire, it will be necessary to obtain a new build;ing permft
and a permit fee amounting to one-half of the original permit,.fee for such workwill be due.
If we do not hear from you within the next ten days we will assume that you
