CITIES OF KINDNESS DAY
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, The City of Springfield is committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive
environment for all of its citizens. Our basic beliefs and core values are in alignment with the
goals of the campaign.
WHEREAS, kindness contributes to the well-being of those around us; and
WHEREAS, through acts of kindness we are able to bridge differences and empower
individuals; and
WHEREAS, increasing the level of kindness in our community is desirable, as it can make a
positive difference in the lives of our citizens and aid in the betterment of our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Christine L. Lundberg, Mayor of the City of Springfield, Oregon,
proclaim November 18, 2019 to be:
“Cities of Kindness Day”
in Springfield, Oregon, and encourage all of the citizens of Springfield to join in demonstrating a
culture of kindness by recognizing, spreading and teaching kindness throughout our community.
