Then I replaced the piece of siding with a new piece and painted to color match the house. lnstalling the new dryer vent on the opposite wall from the existing wall I removing one piece of siding and cut back the vapor barrier and drilled a 4 inch hole to accommodate the new dryer vent pipe. I then reinstalled the paper back around the dryer vent and taped it up with Henry's tape to seal it up. Then cut a hole in the piece of siding and then installed it back in place then installed the screen cover with louvers and caulked and painted as needed. All exterior wall insulation was reused as required. Dryer vent pipe protrudes into the house approximately 2.5 inches to allow for a tight seal for the dryer hose to attach to with a large hose clamp.
