CITY REFERENCE: Secti on 9-7-7 (2)(a)2. of the Springfield Sign Ord'inance.
At the Board of Appeals meeting he'ld on December 6, 1984, the Board of Appeals
rendered the following decision regarding the above referenced varjance request:
APPROVED
FINDINGS OF FACT:
1. The sign poses no potential public health or safety threat -- maintaining
the 8' minimum vision clearance height supports this.
2. Qne objective of the Sign Code is to control the number of freestanding.signs.
for a iingte business. -By combining the signs the request meets the spirit
of the Code.

rendered the follow'ing decision regarding the above referenced variance
reques t:
APPROVED
FINDINGS OF FACT:
I The intent of the Code - to provide a buffer strip - is met because of
the wide right of way area of l'lohawk Blvd.
The reduced setback area presents no detrimental impact on the suffounding
property nor does it create any potentially hazardous public health and/or
safety conditions.
