The size of each existing sign also needs to be listed on the application. PLANS To submit {or a sign permit, you need to prepare two complete sets of drawings showing all dimensions, total height, and a plot plan indicating where the proposed sign will be located. lf you are installing a f reestanding sign which exceeds 20 {eet in total height, the footing detail needs to be prepared and stamped by a registered engineer or architect. After the plan review process is completed, and, if your sign(s) is approved, one set of plans will be returned to You. The approved set of drawings need to be at the site when an inspection is requested for the inspectors relerence' INSPECTIONS Depending on your sign(sl, you may be required to request one or all of the following inspections during tlre installation of your sign: Site: To be, requested after indicating on the lot where the proposed sign will be located but prior to any work being performed for the installation of the sign. This inspection is required if there is a question or1 tlte location of the ProPosed sign. Footing: To be requested alter excavation and the forms are installed, but prior to pouring concrete. lf there will be electrical conduit placed in the footing, it must also be in place prior to requesting this inspection. Attachment: To be requested when all fasteners are installed but prior to cover. Electrical: To be requested after the electrical connection to the sign is made, but prior to energizing. Final: After all required inspections are conducted and approved and the sign installation is complete' The inspections that are required for your sign installation will be indicated on the application during the plan review process. Your application indicates that there is an existing free standing sign on the property. Will this freestanding sign replace that sign, or is the application for an additional free standing sign? 2. The plot plan that you included with the application does not indicate what the setbacks from the property line are. Even though you are proposing to use an existing pole, the sigrr pole and sign structur€ must still meet the minimum setbacks which are, the sign or sign stmcture cannot be locarcd in the 25 foot vision clearance areq the sigp or sign stnrcture cannot bc located in any easemenl the sip and sigr stucture must be a minimum of l0 feet from any driveway, and the minimum setback from any property line is five feel 3. Photographs of the existing sigrage was not included with the application. In order to issue a permit for this sigr, the property needs to be in compliance with the number of allowable signs as indicated in the current Sign Code. The application states only that there is an cxisting free standing sign on the properly. Is this correct? 610 Q Sheet l. Photographs of the existing sifage was not included with the application, and there were not signs listed on thc application that are existing however, on one of your drawings, it indicates that there is at least one wall sign. As stated above, we need to be provided information on existing signage on the property to ensure the properly will be in compliance with the allowable numbcr of signs permitted. 2. The plot plan which you included gives the dimension of seven feet from the sidewalk. Does the property line abut the sidewalk? If so, you will probably be okay with the seven foot setback. If your pole is seven feet from the property line, and the sign stmcture has no more of an overhang than two feeg then you would meet the minimum five foot setback which is required provided there is not an easement in that specific atea. I am enclosing your applications and drawings so you can add the information we need to process your permits.
