In the planning stages for three yearsr the spningfield sign ordinance is a p::oduct
of the combined efforts of a speciar sign subcommittee formed by the Planning Commis-
sion, representatives of the Springfiell Cn"rU"o of Commo:ee, and the Spningfield Com-
mittee for. Citizen Involvernent. e-numte:: of p'ublic hea::ings also occured fo:: further
citizen input. Then, in January 1981, the spningfield city council adcpted the new
Sign Ondinance.
Seetion 9-7-22 (3) of the Sign ordinance :requines specific vio}ations to be correeted
