HomeMy WebLinkAboutPermit Correspondence 1982-10-22SPRI]{GFIELD CITT OF SPRINGFMLD Department of Public Works CERTIFIED LETTER 0ctober 22, 1982 Resident 759 Mi11 Street Springfield, 0regon 97477 Dear Resident: A recent observation of your property located at 759 Mil1 Street, Springfield, 0regon reveals that it is in violation of the following City Codes: Sections 4-2-6, 4-2-9 and 5-1"-1 (3)(a) and (d) of the Springfield City Code (copies attached). An accumulation of bagged household garbage and used tires exists on the property at the above referenced location. Household garbage must be stored in covered containers and removed weekly. Used naterials must either be rernoved or screened from view by a structure or enclosure of a permanent nature affixed to the ground. Therefore, by ten (10) days from the date of this letter (November 2, 1982), the above described conditions must be corrected in order to conform to City Codes. Unless you comply with this requirement, further action will be taken under the Codes of the City of Springfield, Oregon. Please direct all inquiries to the Springfield Building Division at 726-3753. OFFENSES ARTICLE 1. (t ) i ts i the duty of each person desiring the services of the collector of garbage refuse in the removal of any garbage, nuisance material or other accumu'lation to furnish his own receptacle.(a) No customer seeking serv'ice for the first t'ime at a location shall use any sunken or plastic garbage can after August l,.l979. (2) No resident or householder shall use any receptac'le for this purpose othei than a standard garbage can not in excess of 32 gallons capacity. (3) No person shall permit or suffer any refuse, decaying vegetab'le or other decaying substance, or abandoned refuse matter that accumulates in the preparation 6t food for the table, or any garbage of any kind, to be or rema'in in or about any house, yard, Iot, place or premises owned-or occupied by him except for the-time, and under the cond'itions and regulations as con- tained in this article, and unless the same be kept in a closed can, box, or other receptacle in such a manner that there shall be no leakage of the con- tents thereof, and in such condition and manner that no offensive smell or atmosphere shill obtain or be created to the-extent that the same may thereby cause or become a public nuisance, or affect or endanger the rights or health of any person whatsoever. (4) No person shall overload containers beyond the point where covers can secure'ly be replaced. 4-2,8 Liquid Wastes.
