Dear I{r. Beckett:
At your request the Building Division of the City of Springfield made an occu-pancy inspection on August 1, 1979 at 253 IUi11 Street,-Sprlngfield, Oregon.
Your proposal to change the use of the building from an apartment building, R-1occupancy, to an office building B-2 occupancy, necessiated this inspecti6n.
The building is located in a C-1 Zone. Section L4.20 and Section g.03 (g) thru(\) o-f the Springfield Zoning Code permits the use of buildings for varioi, typu,of offices in this zone. Section zq.o+ (c) of the Zoning CoJe requires that youwill provide one [1) offstreet parking space for every 400 square feet of grossfloor area.
The following items must be repaired, replaced or installed to conform to the ap-plicable codes
L. An approved size and type of pressure relief valve must be installed in theproper location provided on the water heater in the laundry room. A 3/4 inchpipe must be connected to the va1ve, piped down and to the outside of the build-ing.
2. Remove all galvinized fittings arrl nipples connected to the copper water linesin the laundry room and replace with copper or brass fittings.
3. A11 toilet room floors rnust have a hard, nonabsorbent floor surface that extendsupward onto the wa1ls at least s inches (section L711 (a) u.B.c.).
4. A main breaker must be installed in each electrical panel.
5. Check polarity on all electrical receptacles.
6. A11 receptacles sha1l be grounded type.

Any additiona1 ,rrr* must be done in conduit.
B. Check all receptacles and fixture's for broken or missing cover plates.
Permits must be obtained before work starts and all work shal1 be accomplished in
accordance with applicable codes. Property for rent, lease or sale is required to
be wired by a licensed electrical contractor. A11 work must be inspected and ap-
proved before a Certificate of Compliance will be issued.
