I notified you in that letter that a maximum of 45 days was being allowed for you to convert the garage either back to its original approved use, or to the conversion, a meeting room and additional storage, as approved in 1984. To date, we have received no response from you in regards to the demolition or conversion proceeding. Because of the potential hazards from the modifications to the existing electrical system that were done without required permits or inspection approvals, the electrical service to the garage will be disconnected on Friday June 29,2001. lf you need further information you can contact me at 726-3666, or Electrical lnspector Dave Gadomski at726-3663, 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. During the inspectioq your tenant verified the garage is currently being used as a separate single family residence. In reviewing the City's permit and inspection records for that location, I found that a permit was issued in 1984 to convert the existing garage into a meeting room and additional storage. All required permits and inspections were obtained and conducted for that conversion. Our records revealed no record of a conversion from the approved meeting room and storage area to an additional living unit for this structure and./or property. This property is currently zoned LD& Low Density Residential, which allows only one dwelling unit per tax lot, unless the property is on a corner lot, which allows for the construction of a duplex. If you have questions regarding the zoning of your properfy, please contact the Springfield Planning Division at 726-37 59. This letter is written to notify you that the garage must be converted back to either its original approved use as agarage, or, to the conversion as approved in 1934. This work must begin within 30 days and be completed within 45 days from the date of this letter. If you do not take corrective action within the time frame outlined above, the City may seek compliance through legal recourse which may include Municipal Court proceedings. Your cooperation in resolving this matter is greatly appreciated. If you need further information you can contact me at 726-3666,8:00 a.m. until4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
