A mrmber of public heari.ngs also occured for further citizen input. Then, as of January 1981, the Springfield City Council adopted the new Sign Ordinance. Section g-7-21(5) of the Sign Ordinance requires abandoned signs (signs'*hich aCvertise a busi.ness no longer located on the premises) to be rcmoved. Abandoned signs nust be rernoved by thirty (30) days from the date of the notice of such viclation. As a result of the recent City-wide sign survey, the following violati.on was found on your property relative to abandoned signs: I The roof sign advertising "Farmer's Insurance Group". By Siit vi, February 13, 1982 the above referenced violation of the Springfield gn inance must be corrected. Because the sign survey was conpleted in July of 1981,is possible you havc already taken steps to correct or have completed corrccting thisolation. If this is the case, please contact this office as soon as possible. The Building Bcard of Appeals is empowered to hear and grant variances to the Sign Ordin- ance, provided a written appeal is submitted to the Superintendent of Building within 10 days of the date of reccipt of this letter.
