Please find enclosed copies of the following documents: 1. Letter dated August 1I, L982, to George L- and Betty J. Morris from Ron Clark, Superintendent of Buildirg, indicating the need for repair and/or replacement of approximately six feet of sidewalk near the intersection of llarket Street and Centennial Boulevard. The section of the sidewalk in question is two to two and one-half inches higher than the adjacent section of sidewalk, creating a potential pedestrian hazard. 2. Letter dated January L7, 1983, to George L. and Betty J. Morris from this office. The requested repairs have been neither completed nor undertaken. A sidewalk repail/replacement permit has not been obtained by Mr. and Mrs. Morris irom the Springfield Department of Public Works. Chapter 2 of the llunicipal Code of the City of Springfield reqlired the abutting property owner to repair and maintain s idewalks. Section L-t2-7 of the llunicipal Code of the City of Springfield provides for penalties and fines for failure to comply with the requirements of the ltlunicipal Code- please institute an action in the Ivlunicipal Court of the City of Springfield to compel compliance by Mr. and lrIrs.
